[attr="class","tile-content"]October was here, and Aofie was enjoying the cooler weather. It felt like her body was still adjusting after the hot summer and September. It meant light sweaters apple and pumpkin flavored items!
Today was pretty slow, slower than usual. Students were in class for the most part, minus the trouble makers. None of the students came into the library unless it was for a project, but since it was the beginning of the school year, no research papers were assigned site yet. If there were a major project coming up, the teachers would give her a list of the assignment, which allowed her to pull books for the desired subjects and put them on the research shelves near the front desk. The classes that were the most attractive for research were the History and English courses, two subjects Aofie adored herself.
The sound of the libraries clocks and fingers on keyboards were the only sounds that could be heard in the library. Some of the other librarians were at their desks, or in the break room near the Keurig talking about their grandchildren or some gossip that dripped from the students’ mouths.
Not exactly wanting to be sitting around, twiddling her thumbs, Aofie found a few carts of books that were returned and decided to place them back in their rightful home. Most of them were from the fiction section or ebook codes. Figuring she would start with the paper copies first, she grabbed the first cart she saw. She unlocked the wheels and wheeled the cart to the young adult section.
Eyes expertly scanned the symbols and lettering on the binding, hands placing the books in their desired areas. Only a few books in, Aofie heard the bell at the front desk go off. Her head tilted in confusion, wondering who it could be, but nevertheless, she stopped what she was doing and returned to the front, with the cart, shoes clicking on the tile.
Once she locked the cart behind the desk, she walked to one of the two computers at the reception. “Hey there, how can I help you?” she politely asked, with a sweet smile.
